Combine User Groups and Resource Groups
- Admin account with access rights management permissions
- User group created with members added — see User Groups reference
- Resource group(s) created with resources added — see Resource Groups reference
Overview
Use this method to assign a resource group to an entire user group in one action. This is the most efficient approach for large organizations — instead of managing access user-by-user or door-by-door, you connect a team of users to a group of doors. All members of the user group automatically receive access to all resources in the resource group.
This method creates a dynamic link between a user group and a resource group. When you add a new user to the user group, they automatically get access to the assigned resource groups. When you add a new door to the resource group, all linked user groups automatically get access to it. Changes take effect immediately.
Steps
Step 1: Navigate to the User Group
- Go to Users in the left sidebar menu
- Select User groups from the submenu
- Find and select the desired user group from the list
Step 2: Open Resource Group Access Rights
On the user group details page, locate the Resource Group Access Rights section and click Give new rights.

The user group details page has two access rights sections. Make sure you click Give new rights in the Resource Group Access Rights section (not the "User Groups Access Rights" section). The latter is for assigning individual resources — see Grant Access Using User Groups for that method.
Step 3: Select Resource Groups
- Check the boxes next to the resource group(s) you want to assign
- Review your selection in the confirmation panel at the bottom
- Click Confirm to proceed

Step 4: Configure Validity Period
Set when the access should be active:
"Set the same validity for all" toggle:
- ON — Apply the same start and end dates to all selected resource groups
- OFF — Configure each resource group with a different validity period
Validity options:
- Valid from — Set the start date and time
- Valid to — Set a specific end date and time, or leave empty for "Valid for now" (indefinite access)
Optional: Select a weekly schedule to restrict access to specific hours or days. See Set Time Restrictions for details.
Validity configuration — set dates and optional weekly schedule for the selected resource groups
When using "Valid for now," the access right has no automatic expiration. An administrator must manually update or remove it when access is no longer needed.
Step 5: Save
Review your configuration, then click Save to apply the access rights. All members of the user group immediately receive access to all resources within the assigned resource group(s).
Step 6: Verify the Results
After saving, the assigned resource groups appear in the Resource Group Access Rights table with their validity periods and status.

From this table, you can manage existing access rights using the available action buttons: Remove access rights, Edit validity, or Give new rights to add more resource groups.
