Installation Requests
- Admin, Regional Admin, or Multi-Account (admin role) access
- At least one Location configured in the platform
- An installation partner invited to the account with installer permissions
Overview
The Installation Requests page manages the workflow for connecting physical access control devices to your Bitwards account. Administrators create digital installation tickets that specify device details and location, and assigned installation partners receive these tickets on their mobile devices to perform the physical setup. Once an installer completes the installation, the device automatically appears in the Resources list and is ready for access rights assignment.
Key Capabilities:
- Ticket-based installation workflow coordinating administrators and installation partners
- Two display modes (table and card view) for reviewing installation requests
- Search, sort, and export functionality for managing large numbers of requests
- Bulk operations through CSV import for large-scale deployments
- Status tracking to monitor pending and completed installations
Navigation
To access Installation Requests:
- Log in to your Bitwards Mobile Access account
- Expand "Resources" in the left sidebar menu
- Click "Installation Requests" to view all installation tickets

Creating an Installation Request
To create a new installation request, click the "Make request" button in the top toolbar. The creation form requires:
- Name of the location (mandatory) — Select from your configured locations
- Floor — Select the floor within the chosen location
- ID (mandatory) — Unique identifier for the device (e.g., door ID)
- Name (mandatory) — Descriptive name visible to users in the mobile app
- Category — Select from location categories
- Additional information — Notes about the installation location
- Manufacturer (mandatory) — Select the hardware manufacturer
- Model — The specific device model (hardware type is shown after selection)
- Installer — Select which installer company or locksmith receives the ticket
Installation requests cannot be modified once created. If changes are needed, delete the request and create a new one.
Installation Workflow
The installation process follows a structured sequence:
- Administrator creates the installation request with device and location details
- Installer receives the ticket in their mobile app's installation queue
- Installer completes the physical device installation and links it to the account
- Device appears in the Resources list, ready for access rights assignment
When an installer finishes the installation, the ticket disappears from the Installation Requests page and the device becomes visible in the Resources section.
Search, Export, and Deletion
Search: Enter search terms and press Enter or click the magnifier icon. Search works across all table columns. Clear the field and press Enter to reset.
Export CSV: Click "Export CSV" to download installation request data. The export respects any active search or filter criteria.
Delete: Use the trash icon to permanently remove an installation request. Deleted requests cannot be recovered.
Deleting an installation request is irreversible. Make sure the request is no longer needed before removing it.
Pagination
The table supports configurable pagination with rows per page (default: 50), page navigation controls, and result count indicators. Pagination controls appear both above and below the table.
